How it works
Choose an image

Get its main colors
The six main colors, with hex codes and how much of the image each one covers.
Pick readable text
Each color shows the text color that reads best on it, with its contrast ratio.
Why contrast matters on pins
Pins are seen small, on phones, while people scroll. Text that does not stand out from its background is skipped. The usual guideline for readable text (WCAG) is a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1 - every "Aa" sample on this page shows its ratio, and every palette above passes it.
How to use the colors
- Match your image: use one of its own colors behind the headline so the pin looks like one piece.
- One accent: keep one strong color for the important word or the button.
- Same look, every pin: using the same palette makes your pins recognisable.
Next, make the image the right size with the Pinterest image resizer and check the text with the pin preview & SEO checker.
